5 I've seen Anaconda, and, senator, Anacondas is no Anaconda.

5 To be fair, it's little better or worse than the original. But, to be honest, the original--minus its nascent stars--wasn't very good.

5 There's some guilty popcorn pleasure to be had from watching beautiful people get digested down into the belly of the beast, but don't expect anything fresh or inventive here.

4 The movie does deliver upon the promises offered in its title, and little else.

4 ...the biggest problem with the corny horror film ... is that its titular reptiles are about as scary as jellied eels.

5 Dumb? Sure. Fun? You bet.

3 Yes, it's a terrible movie and a waste of millions of dollars, but the upside is that Anacondas is hilarious. It is a true contemporary B-movie and qualifies as such because it has no idea that it's a B-movie. It thinks it's a Hollywood blockbuster.

3 Unlike its campy predecessor, it's populated with anonymous, attractive plastic people from the Los Angeles talent pool.

4 ...there's no enjoyably outlandish hiss to this variation on the formula...

5 ...has no pretensions and gets its little job done effectively, providing some small-scale laughs and chills for the late summer season.

7 It's actually funnier than most of the so-called comedies we've been punished by this summer and provides a steady stream of yuks in nearly equal doses of the intentional and unintentional variety.

5 It all plays out as you'd expect...

3 There are so many greedy Americans fleeing giant snakes in this flick that it's hard to keep them straight. One thing's for sure, though -- they don't die fast enough.

3 ...clearly a bottom-feeder.

2 ...if the film had cut any more corners, it would have had to borrow graphics from an old Intellivision game.

5 Aside from a climactic giant snake orgy, we've taken scarier trips into the jungle with Tarzan coloring books.

WOW, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel for a horror plot. Not scary in the least. Crap story... bleh. A few cool scenes...but watch this only if you feel the need.
