8 ...a compelling, persuasive film, at odds with the White House effort to present Bush as a strong leader.

9 Among the movies everyone should see this year--whatever your film taste or your political bent--Michael Moore's incendiary documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 heads the list.

10 Fahrenheit 9/11 might not be the best made movie of the year, but it could very well have the biggest impact.

7 Putting the politics aside, Moore's film is well crafted with intensely serious scenes, and moments of absolute hilarity.
New York Post
Lou Lumenick
6 basically a two-hour argument for regime change that isn't half as incendiary or persuasive as its maker would have you believe.
TV Guide
Maitland McDonagh
6 ...infuriating and challenging in equal parts, a bombshell of bitter insights that are obscured by clouds of disingenuous bluster and tomfoolery; every sharply articulated point is offset by a buffoonish stunt, each razor-sharp observation about the interplay of American policy and the interests of the moneyed elite counterbalanced by a mawkishly heart-tugging tale of poor working folks getting shafted.

8 ...an incendiary documentary...

7 Fahrenheit 9/11 tends to ramble on, but if the film feels like a work in progress, that's only natural -- by film's end, you get a sense the film won't be finished until Dubya is.
Rolling Stone
Peter Travers
8 ...Moore has marshaled what's on the record and off into a stinging indictment of where we're going.
Entertainment Weekly
Owen Gleiberman
8 Scalding and glib, derisive yet impassioned, Fahrenheit 9/11 is an intensely resonant piece of Bush-bashing, because it lets the president do most of the work.
New York Times
A. O. Scott
8 ...is many things: a partisan rallying cry, an angry polemic, a muckraking inquisition into the use and abuse of power. But one thing it is not is a fair and nuanced picture of the president and his policies.
Los Angeles Times
Kenneth Turan
9 The core of Fahrenheit's appeal comes in Moore's alternating familiar images with footage many Americans may not have seen. The resulting mosaic, the cumulative effect of experiencing everything together in one place, is easily the most powerful piece of work of Moore's career.
People
Leah Rozen
7 ...provocative, often funny, unapologetically one-sided and, yes, highly entertaining.
LA Weekly
Ella Taylor
7 ...a roaring, and for the most part richly deserved, hatchet job on the Bush presidency.
Village Voice
J. Hoberman
7 Although overlong and hampered by a rambling argument, the movie does make a compelling narrative.

6 Sloppy as cinema and dubious as journalism, the film nonetheless seethes with such anger and urgency that it feels like a historic provocation...

8 Depending on your political tilt, you either love Michael Moore or you think he's fat. Fahrenheit 9/11 won't change your opinion on either count, but it will make you think.

8 ...an explosive and heart wrenching piece of cinema...

Despite Moore's predilection for, how shall we say, bending certain details, Fahrenheit 9/11 is mostly competent in its inquiry into the monetarily-driven political motivations of the Bush family. Given its timing, scope, and success, it will be hard to look back and argue that it wasn't the most important film of a generation.

after you run everything that you see through your moore filter there are some interesting and insightful nuggets. moore has a penchant for the stupidly dramatic and, shall we say, interesting editting.

that notwithstanding, it's a must see and will hopefully provide an appropriate kick in the pants for folks to pay attention to what's going on in the country.

Okay, I don't know what movie these other people were watching, but this movie was so boring. I have no trouble with the details and facts/opinion, but did it have to be put together so slowly and horribly. I gotta believe that there were better ways to get these facts out.

Michael Moore tried his best to push his agenda onto gullible entertainment seekers. Fortunately, the majority of Americans know overweight deciet when they smell it.

Jamie  7

Not a "fun" movie to watch. Not sure how much "truth" is behind it. None the less an interesting look at Bush and company.

Sven  10

I think I'll give it a 10 just to piss off sethmcd.

It will change your mind of thinking forever.

This movie is so well made, that if all the bad horror movie directors (saw, and other crappy movies)got toghether and tried to make a political rival agints this film, they would make a fool of themselves. It is so persuasive, cogent, cynical, smart, smart, smart and will change your mind of thinking FOREVER. See it now.

Even if only 5% of what Moore talks about in his movie is true, every US citizen needs to be asking the questions, "Why is it dark in here? Why is it hot? And what am I doing in this handbasket?" Because if we allow this president to continue on the current path, we're going to hell...
