6 ...Williams does charge up RV, even if he's a long way from the frenzied genius of Good Morning, Vietnam or his mind-blasting stand up routines.

3 Tired stereotypes, boob jokes, poop geysers and relentless fart references do little to pump up a limp script and a string of embarrassingly unfunny moments for Williams.

5 ...once you get past the lengthy, graphic geyser-of-liquid-excrement gag, it's not as irredeemably vulgar as it might have been.

4 Early in RV, the bratty kids take one look at the titular vehicle and pronounce it a "big, rolling turd." The same can be said for Barry Sonnenfeld's woefully unfunny family comedy, a scattershot mess that marks a new low for Robin Williams--and that's saying something...
Slant Magazine

3 ...a torturous jaunt characterized by lowbrow, low-rent farce (usually involving fart noises and/or Williams being physically hurt) and perfunctory story arcs (the son weight lifts because he's insecure about his size, the daughter thinks Dad is uncool, yada yada yada).
New York Times

3 ...a comedy as broad as a double-wide and as contrived as the metaphors I'm struggling to resist.

3 That noxious odor emitting from this enforced-family-fun-road-trip comedy as it barrels toward home video is desperation.

1 In RV, the downwardly spiraling career trajectories of Robin Williams and director Barry Sonnenfeld intertwine like the ropes of a tangled parachute, and all the helpless viewer can do is look on aghast as the whole abortive fiasco plummets toward Earth.

7 Moments of subtlety and wit mitigate occasional tendencies toward gross-out humor and Disney-itis.

Set expectations on low and roll out! If you're in the right mood, the laughs are in there... but there's not enough of them to make the 1hr 40mins worth it.
