7 ...an intricate, sometimes implausible ideological thriller that might be better as a smaller-scaled, less preachy psychological drama.

8 The picture loses some points for an ending that rings false and undercuts some of the buildup, but, nonetheless, Paradise sure is nice.

6 While Paradise Now is a technically assured treatment of an important story, it never transcends its political posturing and finds the humanity as profoundly as it means to.

7 ...too bitterly real to be a comedy, but its irony is a useful tool for needling terrorists from the inside.

6 ...winds up feeling as if it's equivocating on the morality of suicide bombing in order to placate both peacenik and militant viewpoints on the Palestinian condition.

7 Shot in the West Bank, the film radiates authenticity. Even when he plays the action like a thriller, Abu-Assad is in search of a deeper truth.

7 ...suffers from some odd continuity glitches and takes a few too many narrative curves en route to an overly convoluted ending, but the heart of the movie is as tense as the bus ride in Hitchcock's Sabotage.

A look into a situation that drives people to suicide bombing. I was into it for the most part.

It was interesting as an exploration into perspective... but falls short as a film. The main character is portrayed as emotionally dead and monotone. While it may be an artistic portrayal, it doesn't lead towards the audience really caring all that much about the outcome. The tension arc of the film is almost a flat line from beginning to end.

An interesting 90 minutes. A gimmicky but entertaining 'last supper' shot. But it shouldn't be all that high on your list of things to watch.
